CHOOSE KEYSTONE ATHLETIC
January 21st, 2010 - The West Ham United International Academy announced its 8th partner club, Stroudsburg United/United Grifos, now Keystone Athletic, from Northeast Pennsylvania.
Keystone Athletic operates teams at every level of the United Soccer Leagues, Super-Y and Super 20 leagues. Keystone Athletic also fields 15 teams with its local state association, EPYSA (Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association). It has a developmental academy attended by 500 local children. In addition to working with their local members, Keystone Athletic has an affiliation program with other North East PA clubs that include ENCO and NAZARETH to ensure all organizations, players, and coaches are working toward the same goals. With Keystone Athletic affiliation programs and their own members, the organization reaches out to over 3,000 youth soccer players.
Mike Kelleher, West Ham United’s International Academy Partnership Development Manager said, “Keystone Athletic Soccer Club came highly recommended to us through our network of contacts in North America. As with all our partners, we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership, not only in terms of player identification/development but in sharing some of the good practice and methods of the West Ham United Academy.”
"As we enter our 20th year of operation, this is exciting news for the organization. We are excited to add another European affiliate and we look forward to the opportunities the affiliation can bring, not only to some players but also to the organization" stated Keystone Director, Michael Composto.
