What kind of equipment does my child need to play?
If your child is playing soccer for the first time you might need to invest in a little equipment. Our recommendation is not to spend a lot of money on this investment. Kids outgrow equipment quickly and it can start to get very expensive. We do require a few items that will help keep your child safe and maximize his or her enjoyment as a member of the Keystone Rising Tide.

All players are required to wear shinguards. Shinguards come in many shapes and sizes, and prices too. It’s important that they fit your player right. Just about any discount department store with sporting goods will have shinguards. You can usually find a pair for under $10.

All players are required to bring a ball. You can purchase one from the club or shop yourself around town. Be sure to buy the right size for your player. If your not sure, ask a member of the Keystone staff or follow this chart:
Size 3= 7 and under
Size 4= 8-11 years
Size 5= 12 years and up
Be sure to pump up your ball before coming to practice.

Soccer cleats are optional for U8 players and younger, however, players at all ages wear them. As your child becomes more technical and competitive, cleats are a must, especially on wet playing surfaces.
Soccer cleats also differ from football and baseball cleats in many ways but one of the most distinguishing characteristics is that soccer cleats do not have a single stud directly under the toe.
